The underdogs, Quetta Gladiators will get services of Pakistani veteran all-rounder Abdul Razzaq (a.k.a Bang Bang Razzaq) as their assistant/bowling coach. Quetta Gladiators put up some impressive performance in PSL 2016. The inclusion of Abdul Razzaq in the team makes this side even more strong.

The bowling department of Quetta Gladiators have some good names. Anwar Ali, Umar Gul and Tymal Mills will surely get benefit from Razzaq’s experience.

Abdul Razzaq seems happy as he get to coach the Gladiators. He expressed his feelings as,

“Pleased to announce that i am going to do coaching duties of @TeamQuetta in Pakistan Super League season 2.Feeling happy &fresh! #Quetta#PSL.”

This shows he is really looking forward to participate in Pakistan’s own cricket league. Inclusion of gem like Abdul Razzaq will boost the credibility of the event. Also, level of competition will increase. Quetta Gladiators already have living legend Sir Vivian Richards as their mentor. Therefore, Quetta seems to have a couple of experts to guide them to victory.

Ian Ponts Statement:

Moreover, replaced bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators seems disappointed on being left out of the side. He expressed his emotions on social media. He seems unhappy from the unprofessional attitude from the Quetta franchise since he was not informed about his replacement. Furthermore, it seems that he got this news via social media which is really an improper gesture from the franchise.

He said, “I have just found out on social media, that I have been replaced as Assistant and Bowling Coach for 2016 PSL Runner’s up, Quetta Gladiators.”

He also stated, “I do find it highly unprofessional not to have been contacted by anyone from Quetta Gladiators about this beforehand and only to discover the fact from a tweet by Abdul Razzaq who has been roped in as my replacement.”

“Worse still, it is extremely late for me to approach another franchise in PSL and had I been told what Quetta was planning. I could have at least had the chance to do so. The HBL PSL is a really good competition and it was Shahid Afridi who personally advised me to go into it. I hope it goes from strength to strength,”

“Putting my own disappointment aside, I wish Abdul very well in his new role. I am sure the fans will welcome him. Perhaps he can go one better and help win the PSL and we ought to have done in 2016. Cricket is rife with poor communication and muddled thinking. However, remaining professional is a prerequisite regardless,”

It was a really lengthy post which shows how downhearted he is. Anyhow, he wished Abdul Razzaq good luck and hoped Quetta Gladiators will perform well in PSL 2017.
