Islamabad United is all set to rise again to the top in the PSL 2017. Starting in February. UAE Capital Venture group owns the franchise for $1.5 million US dollars.

Coaching Staff for Islamabad United team include some legends. They have fast bowler Wasim Akram as their Director and Bowling Coach. Former Australian batsman Dean Jones is the head coach of the side. Also Toseef Ahmed acts as assistant bowling coach for the Islamabad side.



Islamabad United players are young an talented. Misbah ul Haq will lead this franchise. He is the most successful captain for Pakistan. This team has a blend of youngsters. As Umar Amin, Amad Butt, Ruman Raees are part of the team. In addition to that, they have experienced players of T20 cricket like Muhammad Sami, Khalid Latif, Saeed Ajmal and Sharjeel Khan.

This franchise has picked a very nice side. Including specialist all-rounders like iconic player Shane Watson and destructive Andre Russel. Other experienced members include retired Australian wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin and West Indian number one T20 spinner Samuel Badree. Also England’s emerging star player Sam Billings.

This team has a potential to give a strong challenge to other sides. Since they have experienced batsman, quality all-rounders, tricky spinners and quick fast bowlers.

Islamabad United knocked out every other team in PSL 2016. Hopes of Lahore Qalandars to get into the second round were ruined when they were defeated by this side. Similarly they knocked out Karachi Kings in the second round. In addition, Peshawar Zalmi who finished at the top of the points table ended up losing to this side in the semi finals. They lift the trophy after defeating favorites Quetta Gladiators.
