The thrilling and nail biting matches of second season of Pakistan Super League have just started. PSL is already covered in clouds of spot-fixing allegations. Moreover, PSL Match Fixing Scandal has already caught the attention of fans all around. It's definetely a shocking news for all the PSL fans. Investigation are taking place. Their are rumors of an International Syndicate trying to add plague of corruption into the league. Players and officials are being observed and questioned by PCB & ACU. Which in turn has given its fruit.
Players Involved in PSL Match Fixing Scandal
The Investigation has lead to the terminal of the following two players
- Sharjeel Khan
- Khalid Latif
Both the players belong to the last year's PSL champion Islamabad United. Sharjeel Khan was the only player to score a century in last year PSL eliminator. But his actions in this year's first game were suspicious. Accusations were made on them meeting a bookie in a hotel. Where the Bookie offered them a sum of money. Actions have consequences and as a result of their actions they will not be able to play for the rest of PSL.
Pakistan player Nasir Jamshed introduced the players to the fixer. He contacted Khalid Latif and asked to bring Sharjeel Khan with him. Sharjeel Khan was made an offer of 20 lac per dot ball.
Mohammad Irfan, Shazaib Hasan and Zulfiar Babar are now also under questioning by PCB and ACU. The officials are extra vigilant for anything that may harm the popularity of PSL. Najam Sethi, Chairman of the PSL said.
“We will not tolerate any form of corrupt activity and as this investigation proceeds we will not hesitate to take further decisive action as appropriate"
This shows the resolve to make PSL a corruption free league and no free pass is given to any player. All the parties being involved will be caught being players or officials.
